1834 Hotels looks forward to 2023 following solid growth trajectory
After an exciting year for 1843 Hotels, one characterised by growth and development, the company is looking forward to what 2023 will bring for its portfolio of hotels, motels and resorts.
Andrew Bullock, CEO, stated “With the warmer months on the horizon, and plenty of developments underway, we’re eager to see what summer has in store for each of our venues”.
There has been no slowing down for the team at 1834 Hotels, and this has been reflected in Australia’s tourism recovery following the pandemic. The country’s international tourism market has been recovering throughout 2022, whilst domestic tourism has surpassed pre-pandemic levels.
Mr Bullock is thrilled to witness not only the expansion of his company’s portfolio, but that of the country’s tourism industry as a whole. “As an advocate for growth and development in the tourism and hospitality sectors, it’s exciting to see a number of new developments that will further contribute to the growth of the industry”.
In addition to its longstanding contracts with properties across Australia, 1834 Hotels is looking forward to working with a number of fantastic new listings from 2023.
The company finalised hotel management deals with some of the most anticipated properties in South Australia this year. Of note, a brand new 5-star property situated in the heart of Glenelg will join the 1834 Hotels group in late 2023. The $50-million dollar development will feature 65 beautifully appointed rooms and a rooftop bar with unmatched views of Glenelg.
Outside of South Australia, 1834 Hotels has also welcomed a fantastic new property in Melbourne in 2022; Quality Apartments Melbourne Central. “We’re thrilled to expand our portfolio into Melbourne’s CBD, a city that attracts tourists from all corners of the globe.” Mr Bullock said.
Mantra 100 Exhibition – a 4-star hotel in Melbourne’s East End – will also join 1834 Hotel’s list of properties in Victoria, set to be managed from 2023 by the company in a franchise partnership.
Also extending into Queensland in 2022, 1834 Hotels now manages Kewarra Beach Resort just outside of Cairns; a 4-star resort featuring standalone bungalows amongst tropical gardens at Kewarra Beach.
Other exciting deals finalised by 1834 Hotels in 2022 included Wyndham Shores Wallaroo, a 4-star, resort-style hotel situated on the shoreline of Wallaroo – one which will set a new standard for accommodation on the Yorke Peninsula – as well as Flinders Lodge Motel (Kent Town), Econolodge East Adelaide (Kent Town), The Kings Head (Adelaide CBD), Globe Hotel (Port Adelaide) and Grow on Goodwood (Goodwood) in Adelaide.
Two other properties outside of South Australia included the Royal Tenterfield Hotel (Tenterfield, NSW) and De Lago Resort (Lake Bennett, NT).
With 2022 coming to a close, 1834 Hotels is confident about the year ahead. “The travel activity in the last couple of years has encouraged Australians to explore their own backyards, and even with the recent opening of the international borders, local and regional tourism travel remains strong.” 1834 Hotels Managing Partner, Leigh Kentwell, said.
In addition to its recent successes, the company is delighted to be signing further properties in 2023, with several contracts currently pending.
